👨‍👩‍👧 Parent guide

Everything about V-MAT for your family, in plain words. Tap a topic to open it.

🔍 Search lessons
🚀 Getting started
  • Sign in at vmat.uk with your e-mail and password. You land on your family page.
  • Tap your child’s picture (“Who’s learning today?”) to open their own learning. Each child has their own lessons, points and streak — brothers and sisters never mix.
  • Young children can have a picture PIN (4 pictures you choose) so siblings don’t open each other’s learning by mistake.
  • Forgot the password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in page — a link comes by e-mail.
  • On a phone or tablet: use “Add to home screen” and V-MAT opens like an app.
🗺️ The learning map — what your child does each day
  • The big Continue button always opens the next lesson. Ten to fifteen minutes a day is the V-MAT way — little and often builds speed.
  • Lessons open module by module (usually one new module a month). A later module shows the date it opens.
  • Each lesson counts as finished after real practice time, and the map ticks it off. Games open with their module; a magic trick unlocks when the module is finished — ask your child to show it to you!
  • Tap ⛶ Full Screen for lessons; the gold ✕ Exit button (or Esc) leaves it.
  • 🌱 Focus 15 min runs a calm timer for a focused session. You can set a daily practice limit and break reminders on the family page.
⭐ Points, streaks and rewards
  • Children earn V-Gems from real practice only (lessons, practice days, focus sessions, challenges) and spend them on fun things for Vimo — hats, pets, backgrounds. There is no real money anywhere and nothing to buy.
  • The streak counts practice days in a row. A buddy streak lets two children (siblings or a friend, with the friend’s parent’s permission) keep a streak together.
  • The daily 5-minute check 🧠 (remember · revise · a 60-second speed round) builds the daily habit; your child’s speed is saved every day and shown on the family page.
  • The Fix-it Lab 🔧 asks again the facts your child got wrong, spaced over days, until they are fixed.
  • The Friday Speed Challenge and the family duel (you against your child!) make practice a game.
👩‍🏫 Live classes, homework and notes from the teacher
  • If your child is in a Zoom class group, you get a short reminder on the morning of each class.
  • After a class, Mr. Saji Raghav marks attendance and may add a rating and a note for you. You see it under 📝 From the classes on the family page (and by e-mail when there is a note).
  • Homework appears on your child’s map with its due date; the ticks fill in by themselves as your child finishes it.
📈 Seeing progress
  • Every week (from Sunday evening) you get the weekly report by e-mail: lessons this week, practice days, streak, speed (questions per minute) before → after, and the next step.
  • 🗺️ Mastery map & story (family page) shows every module as Not started · Learning · Improving · Mastered, the number facts your child has fixed, and a timeline of their journey — you can print it or save it as a PDF.
  • Evaluations: at the start and at the end of a level your child takes a timed evaluation; the Before → After Growth Report shows how much they have grown.
  • Certificates are issued automatically when your child finishes a module or takes part in a competition. Each has a check code anyone can verify on Check a certificate.
  • The 🔍 search box finds any lesson, game or worksheet and tells you whether it is open, done, or coming later in your child’s path.
🏖️ Holidays and reminders
  • Going away? On the family page, 🏖️ Holiday pause rests a child’s lessons for 1–4 weeks. The holiday days are added to the end of the access, and no reminders are sent. Back early? Tap End the holiday and the unused days come back.
  • We send a friendly e-mail 7 days and 1 day before access ends, and a gentle nudge after 4 quiet days. Nothing more.
  • We e-mail you when a new phone or computer signs in to your account — if it wasn’t you, change your password at once.
📱 Devices
  • Each child can be open on one device at a time (the newest one wins — the older device is gently sent back to the family page). Brothers and sisters each have their own, so they never knock each other out.
  • Your family page lists every open device under My devices, and you can sign one out.
📚 Extras
🔒 Your family’s data
  • Children appear in public places (leaderboards, Hall of Fame) only as first name + initial, and only V-MAT families can see the leaderboard.
  • Lessons show a very faint watermark with your child’s first name — so a shared screenshot can always be traced. Please don’t share lesson recordings.
  • On the family page, Your family’s data lets you see and download everything we hold, or ask us to delete a child or the whole family.
